Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Police stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

A senior representative commented the vandalism made him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
